INTRODUCTION TO SIDDHA VAIDYA BEAUTY TREATMENTS

Beauty and health are synonymous in Siddha Vaidya. Hence, physical beauty is given emphasis as an outward expression of health. Beauty depends on many factors such as nutrition, general health, a positive attitude and the optimum physical surroundings. From Siddha Vaidya, the most ancient herbal medical system, are derived the age old remedies for external health and glowing beauty.

This introductory line of face, body, and scalp rejuvenators are based on red and white Sandalwood, the princess of all beautifying botanicals. The constituting ingredients in this ancient formulae were picked and chosen by venerable master physicians- to augment the Sandalwood to enhance its beautifying abilities. These ingredients act synergistically to gently rejuvenate the skin tissues by penetrating deeply and working at the basal layer of the skin, from which, new cells are continually being produced and maintained. The final results are a very healthy skin and scalp that radiate wellness and beauty.

Thali (Scalp Rejuvenator)
The most important aspect of hair care is rejuvenating the scalp to its original condition. Thali, the scalp rejuvenator is an ancient, time tested Indian formula with Sandalwood as its foundation. Thali is applied to the base of the hair following a massage that rejuvenates the scalp as well as the spirit. This unique formula strengthens the scalp, restores the normal microbial flora and imparts a subtle and lasting fragrance.

Sumug (Face Masque)
Sumug is based on red Sandalwood, traditionally used in facial beauty treatments. This face masque package consists of a Sumug face masque, an herbal cleanser, and a moisturizer. The herbal face cleanser is created with soapnut as its foundation, which is a mild but thorough cleanser of the face. Sumug removes blemishes, prevents the formation of acne and blackheads and maintains a youthful looking skin.

Kalabham (Body Masque)
In India, the original concept of Kalabham was a simple application of a Sandalwood body masque. Over the course of centuries, Kalabham came to include massages with medicated oils, a Sandalwood body masque with a combination of synergistic herbs, and a relaxing medicated bath. This masque adds suppleness and body to the skin, soothes and cools the nerves, is a mild aphrodisiac and provides relaxing aromatherapy.

Foot bath-Sandalwood and other herbs are used inconjunction with reflexology to stimulate the organs and systems responsible for elimination and assimilation. Calms nervous energy, grounds the mind, and cleanses the subtle energies of the body. Used in spiritual cleansing and Seva for your Guru.

Abyangha Massage-lossens toxins and wastes trapped in the tissues, carries nutrients and adaptogens to the other tissues, reduces inflamation and aids in overall body wellness.

Svedana-Steam is often used to loosen toxins and aid the elimination of wastes via the skin-our largest eliminative organ. Aromatherapy oils are often used in conjunction with the steam to act on the nervous system and calm the mind.

Snehana-oelation, foementation, packs, pastes, and herbal scrubs. There are more than 32 external treatments used for every disorder of the body, these are only a few of the numerous ways to cleanse and repair the body using its own memory to rejuvenate the body back to its original blueprint, that includes pain free, heaalth life and body.

Aromatherapy_ essential oils used, pass very rapidly to the nervous system, endocrine and immune systems to balance the functioning, communication and interaction of the systems that provide health in the body.

Gem , Light , and Sound therapies are used in many ways. All these therapies can calm or stimulate the systems providing the balance needed for the dynamic interplay of the whole body. This is why we used the word balance when describing the actions of these therapies for the energy centers, or chakras, to balance the endocrine systems and glands, to balance the nervous system, and all other systems of the body.

About Purva karma, Pancha Karma, and the Kriya Karma treatments.

PURVA KARMA: Preparation to Pancha Karma. The purpose of this treatment is to loosen and mobilize toxins trapped in the tissues, moving them towards the organs of the body from which they can be removed by the Pancha Karma processes. Massage (abhyanga), steam (svedana), and other full or partial body treatments including use of herbs, pastes, and masques (snehana, foot reflexology, face and scalp treatments are used in preparation for Kriya karma.

PANCHA KARMA: An ancient, scientific system for detoxification and re-nutrifying the body. It rejuvenates the whole system, bringing youthfulness and strength to the body and calm openness to the mind. Traditionally, it is undertaken as a preventive therapy at the change of seasons, both winter to spring and summer to fall, the aim is to cleanse the body not only of waste materials that may have built up in the body, but also excesses in subtle energies or tissues, thereby promoting positive health and longevity through the changing climatic conditions. Pancha Karma means 5 actions.

Emesis or Vamana: Cleanses the body's upper pathways, and the stomach, relieves excess Kapha, reduces excess Vata. Used for lung congestion, asthma, bronchitis, cold, cough, and some stomach disorders.
Fasting is and alternative procedure used instead of emesis therapy.

Purgation: Cleanses the small intestines, sweat glands, kidneys, stomach, liver and spleen. It is called for in skin problems, excess bile, anger, irritability, jaundice and headaches.

Nasya: Clears the impurities from the head and neck area. It is used in headaches, sinusitis, nervousness, stiff neck, heaviness in head, running eyes, ear infections, etc.

Blood Purification: Clears the body of impurities, relieving skin dis-orders, exhaustion, allergies, liver complaints, spleen disorders, eye problems and other toxic conditions.

Enema therapy: Primary cleanse for Vata disorders. Cleanses the colon, removes excess toxins. Alleviates stomach disorders, gastritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and sexual disorders. Can be used by itself without other therapies. Can be used to nourish or cleanse the systems.

KRIYA KARMA: Known as Rejuvenation or Rebuilding. This process usually follows or is in conjunction with the Purva Karma and Pancha Karma procedures. Once the toxins have been removed from the tissues and flushed from the organs, the system works more efficiently, making all such rejuvenating or healing treatments more thoroughly assimilated.
Generally Kriya Karma treatments are done in a series of 3, 5 or 7 consecutive days, as they build on each other, however, if only one can be taken, it is still beneficial as it stimulates the rejuvenation process to begin.

Ela Kirzhi: A rejuvenation treatment from Southern India originally reserved for royalty and the wealthy. Pouches filled with herbs are soaked in hot, herbal oils and then gently swept across the body. The warmth allows the skin to fully absorb the herbal oils, enabling the nutrients to reach all the cells, making possible the removal of accumulated waste products. By using the body's own memory system at this deep cellular level, it rejuvenates itself back to it's pure form. The treatment brings deep relaxation, quietness of mind and soft, smooth skin. The blood is cleansed, the immune system is enhanced and new white blood cells are produced

Navara Kirzhi: This is said to be the original treatment from India that
Mark Anthony sought for his Queen, Cleopatra. This treatment uses herbal milk, seeds and medicated oils, giving the skin a softer, younger look and feel. The herbs not only rejuvenate, they also tone and sculpt the body. It is the most luxurious of the Siddha Vaidya rejuvenation treatments. It is performed by two therapists in synchronization, applying herbal oil, preparing the body with simple friction massage and passing herbal pouches lightly over the skin. The warmth to the skin allows the herbs to be absorbed, increases the circulation and triggers the body's natural healing and rejuvenation processes. A more youthful and invigorated being is the result.
